As per title, post some bands that really got you into going to hardcore shows and checking out other hardcore bands. Doesn't have to be a favorite bands thing, just bands that kept you coming back.
For me the first few bands that got me really stoked on hardcore were probably down to nothing, terror, and verse. Maybe others but I think those were the big three.

Verse did it for me. let myself be dragged along to one of their shows in providence, not knowing what kind of music it was or what to expect. so glad I went. they remain one of my very favorites to this day.

Across Five Aprils, Catch 22, Chiodos, Don't Die Cindy, A Graceful Atrophy, and For Today's early stuff really got me into this whole scene

seventh grade I got into iron maiden, black flag, minor threat, buzzocks, sham 69; not knowing any difference between punk and hardcore. (in many ways it was better that way.)
Stretch Arm Strong was the first band I had any cognizant recollection of "hardcore" as a genre. Compassion Fills the Void remains one of my favorite hardcore albums.

I went through the scene days filled with Underoath, TDWP, Impending Doom, WCAR, etc. I met my now friend Devon at a show, and he said "what type of music do you listen to?" and I said "hardcore man \mmmm/" and he got me to name off bands, which included the ones I previously listed. He was disgusted, gave me a list of hardcore bands to get into, and said this is real hardcore. I can't remember what the bands were, but ambush! was one of them. I had previously liked black flag thinking they were a punk band. But basically, Ambush! was the first hardcore band I listened to knowing it was hardcore, and lets just say I didn't like it at all, but it grew on me as I expanded to different types of hardcore and listened to more bands.
I've only liked hardcore for 3 or 4 years now.

hatebreed started me on hardcore. +old throwdown and biohazard and the old victory samplers that I would get in this magazine with snapcase and earth crisis, although I grew to dislike e.c.

I heard Sick of it All through my friends who were in a metal band, right after Scratch the Surface came out. It was all downhill after that

Truthfully, my friends showed me Evergreen Terrace and i saw some local bands along with them such as No Excuses, started going to local shows and i guess that kind of opened the flow of everything
