Hey guys tons of new things happening over here at Mind Rot Records that we are absolutely thrilled to announce so I’m not even going to delay with it.
First off we just put up orders for our fourth release it’s by Richmond, VA’s very own Break Away and entitled “For Life.” Break Away is a newer straight edge band that have been playing shows around here and out of town along the north east fairly regularly, they feature ex-members of Cast Aside and Dead Serious (two of my favorite Richmond bands) and play hardcore drawing influences from Youth of Today, Straight Ahead and Floorpunch to name a few so if that is something you are even slightly into then definitely check this band out and pick up a 7” while your at it. This band has some pretty big plans for the future and we are very happy to have them working with us here at Mind Rot, be on the lookout for them because I’m sure it won’t be long until they are playing somewhere near you. Next up we are pleased to announce our newest addition to the Mind Rot family a band from Dallas, Texas called Modern Pain. Kage and I met some of these kids while in Texas for Chaos in Tejas and thought they were pretty cool dudes. When we got home we kept in touch and were then told they had just recorded some new songs and when they sent them to us we were immediately blown away, this was a band putting something actually new out that was unlike anything we could describe. We thought about it for a while trying to think of what to compare it to so people could get a grasp of what they had to offer, at times we thought of 86 Mentality others we thought of bands like Breakdown and maybe even Integrity thrown in but we just couldn’t put a finger on it. So you all decide for yourselves check these guys out they definitely plan on touring as quickly as possible and play shows fairly regularly around Texas so if your ever in that area be sure to go see them, otherwise wait for them to be coming to a city near you I’m sure it won’t be too long of a wait.
